Chris Deeves is an experienced researcher and litigator focusing on appellate litigation, motion practice, and insurance coverage. Chris feels equally "in his element" whether doing litigation discovery or crucial briefing. Chris is a go-to “law” lawyer who recognizes that an early evaluation of a case both from the legal and factual prospective is the key to a successful outcome.
Chris focuses on drafting dispositive motions including motions to dismiss forum non conveniens or for failure to comply with statutory requirements, motions to enforce arbitration agreements, motions to transfer venue, and motions for summary judgment. Chris assists with the preparation of cases for trial including Daubert motions for experts, motions in limine, jury charges, and other trial motions that can make or break a case. Chris also handles interlocutory appeals and mandamus proceedings from unfavorable rulings in the trial court. Chris further handles traditional appeals to state Courts of Appeals throughout Texas, the Texas Supreme Court, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition, Chris prepares coverage opinions and handles coverage litigation in state and federal courts on behalf of insurers, insured, and claimants.
