Biography

Steve Holden received his undergraduate degree from Missouri State University in 1977. He later earned his law degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1981. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Holden did a two-year "tour" in the public defender's office where the cases were tough, fast paced, and unpredictable. The remainder of his years of practice have been dedicated to general civil litigation. He has been a trial lawyer for over 40 years. Mr. Holden has achieved an "AV-Preeminent" rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating awarded in terms of skill, integrity, and ethics. He has tried an estimated 200+ jury trials with in excess of 90% of his civil cases concluding successfully. He focuses on catastrophic injury/loss cases such as in trucking, product liability, bad faith litigation, construction, medical malpractice, employment law, mass tort litigation, insurance litigation, negligence, transportation, business litigation, class action, medical device litigation, general casualty litigation, coverage issues, personal injury, toxic torts, nursing homes, and first party claims.

Mr. Holden has lectured locally, nationally, and internationally on litigation and continues to lecture in areas involving litigation management and litigation avoidance. He has lectured on Wall Street on alternative dispute resolution and was a featured speaker in a nationwide teleconference seminar entitled, "Dorough v. Bell Avenue Nursing Home: How to Evaluate and Try the Tough Nursing Home Cases," which addressed risk management and evaluation. Mr. Holden was also a featured speaker in a nationally broadcast seminar conducted by direct satellite link to all of the carrier's regional offices to teach evaluation of the critical factors to stem the tide of multi-million-dollar plaintiff verdicts that are occurring throughout the country. The "Social Escalation" of plaintiff verdicts is an area of particular interest to Mr. Holden.

Mr. Holden is a member of the Texas, Dallas County, Tulsa County, Oklahoma, and American Bar Associations (member, American Bar sections on Tort and Insurance Practice Law, Litigation), Oklahoma Association of Defense Counsel, Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC), Defense Research Institute (DRI), and Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM).
